Mastering the techniques of paper cutting, folding and crumpling, Kim uses flat paper to create three-dimensional works that combine illustration, collage and cut-out lace.
Faces and bodies transform into landscapes or take on architectural shapes. Buildings in ruins get a new life. Through its play of light and shadow, Christine Kim’s work takes direct inspiration from the actions of time and reveals the immutable reality of a perpetually changing world. 

Between Camps

In a very personal way, Jamie Bradbury explores the themes of globalization and multiculturalism while re-examining our prejudice. The cultural diversification of cities such as London, New York and Toronto creates new and interesting relationships between seemingly antagonistic cultures. The artist renegotiates and questions the boundaries between the psychological and physical spaces that enable the formation of the self and other. He focuses on the constant push/pull relationship between these two “inhabited spaces.” Potential entitlements, privilege, denial, and hypocrisy are thus revealed and trigger a reassessment.

Denis Lépine

Je souhaite vous présenter ce portrait de fin de journée de 30 mai 2013*. Il s'agit du collectionneur Denis Lépine, un «sémillant entremetteur» comme écrit sur sa carte. Cette photographie est venue à point en ce jeudi splendide assez chargé en matinée. «À point» juste après un court échange avec une relation LinkedIn à qui j'expliquais la beauté de réaliser un portrait d'une manière plus humaine pour que le modèle se sente à l'aise, c'est ma façon si on en croit les 14 recommandations (je ne l'ai pas toutes demandées). 

Ici, nous avons un homme habitué au public, mais pas forcément devant la caméra. M'ayant déjà vu travailler, il savait comment être attentif à sa propre personne. Anni Leibovitz n'aime pas non plus dirigé le monde, elle fait confiance au modèle. C'est très dur d'être dirigé par un portraitiste lorsqu'il vous parle froidement pour tourner la tête, baisser le menton... Son résultat est très bon, mais Brrr! que c'est vexant pour l'amour-propre... Vous savez de quoi je parle tout de même. 

Pour ma part, j'obtiens le résultat ci-dessus même avec un passant du moment où c'est une personne qui lâche le frein. L'important c'est d'avoir confiance. Josias
